Dr. Diana Dahlgren

About Diana Dahlgren, Ph.D.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience in psychological assessment and testing. My services include:

(1) Psychoeducational testing.
(2) Educational consultation and assessment.
(3) Full intellectual, educational, emotional, and personality testing.
(4) Individual, marital, and family therapy.
(5) Forensic services, including court and child custody evaluations.

A primary purpose of psychological and educational testing is to assess attention, learning, emotional, or psychological problems that may be preventing you from working up to your ability in school and work settings. As a result, I am then able to determine if you qualify for accommodations or special education services in school and on standardized tests. Conducting an evaluation also allows me to assess your strengths and weaknesses and to make recommendations for services that I believe may helpful to you.

I work with all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults, to help you reach your goals, regardless of your academic or work history. I have extensive experience in conducting evaluations for the purpose of applying for accommodations or support services for students at all educational levels, including those who have ADHD, learning disabilities, or emotional disabilities. For younger children, I specialize in gifted and talented evaluations, testing for the AAP (Advanced Academic Program) in Fairfax County, private school admissions evaluations, and kindergarten readiness assessments. I particularly enjoy conducting evaluations which allow me to get to know you in depth, as well as use the most up-to-date assessment procedures available in order to determine what might be preventing you from reaching your potential.
